For shinypokes.com and the Shiny Pokes apps for Android and iOS, all run by one person.
The fastest way is from inside the app or the site. Open Contact us from the menu and send a message. It opens a conversation that stays in one place, so you can add a screenshot and see the reply without digging through email.
If you cannot sign in, or you would rather use email, write to support@shinypokes.com. Tell me your username, which game you were on, and what you expected to happen. Screenshots help more than anything else.
One person answers these, usually within a day or two. There is no phone line and no chatbot.
I cannot sign in.
Sign in with Google, Discord, Apple or an emailed link. If a link says it has already been used, ask for a new one: each link works once and expires after an hour. Check spam for a message from noreply@shinypokes.com.
If you first signed up with Google and later tried Discord, those are two different accounts unless both carry the same verified email address. Email me and I will tell you which one holds your shinies.
My encounter count is wrong, or my hunt did not save.
Counts are held on your device and sent to the server every few seconds, so a hunt survives a dropped connection and catches up when you are back. If a number looks stale, pull the page up to refresh it or reopen the app.
If a count is genuinely wrong you can correct it: open the hunt, use Edit, and set the number to what it should be.
Where did a shiny in my collection go?
Check whether a filter or a label is still switched on above the list. The Clear button next to the filters puts everything back. If a catch is genuinely missing, email me before logging it again and I will look at what happened.
The floating counter on Android will not appear.
It needs the Android permission to draw over other apps. Turn it on in Settings, Preferences, and Android will ask for that permission the first time. Some screens hide it on purpose: the system Settings app blocks all floating windows, which is Android doing its job, not a fault in the app.
The floating counter is Android only. Apple does not allow apps to draw over other apps, so the iOS app has no equivalent.
I am not getting notifications.
Allow notifications when the app asks, then check Settings, Notifications on your device. You can choose what is worth a notification in the app under Settings, Notifications.
Is my data anywhere I can get at it?
Yes. Settings, Account has Download my data, which hands you everything as a JSON file, no request needed.
Something is wrong with the Pokemon or game data.
Encounter rates, item locations and shiny odds come from public decompilation projects and community research, and some games are covered better than others. If you spot something wrong, send me the game and what it should say. Corrections are welcome and get fixed quickly.
Chat has a report option on every message, behind the three dot menu, and you can block a hunter from their profile or from chat. Reports come straight to me. If someone is being abusive and you would rather not use the in-app report, email me with their username and roughly when it happened.
You can delete your account yourself at any time from Settings, and it takes effect immediately. The steps and exactly what goes are on the account deletion page.
What is collected and why is in the Privacy Policy, and the rules for using the site are in the Terms. Sprites, data sources and the artists behind them are credited on the credits page.
